Vespa GTR Restoration

This page details the restoration of a 1970's Vespa GTR that I restored a few years ago, in Belfast, Northern Ireland:

As purchased straight in from Italy, running, very solid but a bit sorry looking:

After a complete strip down the scooter, the bare frame and panels were prepared and sent off for painting, the engine was completely stripped down, all components insspected and replaced as necessary:

The pic above shows the engine in a special Vespa factory engine stand, the crank, bearing seals and other components were removed.

New crankcase seals, bearings, clutch plates, cush drive, starter gear etc installed
Engine fully rebuilt and ready for installation in newly painted frame:

Fork assembly overhauled, while body painted

Assembly underway, new chrome legshield beading, new floor runners and center mat. (The blue scooter in the background is featured under Custom Vespa 150).

Forks in, new chrome rims and Michelin S1 tyres, new headlamp & rim, speedo, stand, engine installed, new cables, badges, horn, levers, rear light etc etc

Scooter complete now, new seat also installed, scooter now as new, if not better!
